You want to study a community of milkweed bugs (Heteroptera: Lygaeinae) that sequester plant toxins from oleander, with a focus on their predator-prey relationships?

This field course in evolutionary ecology will lead you to Sicily, where you can learn how to study the bug community composition, how you conduct surveys of the predator community (birds, lizards, jumping spiders, ant lions, etc.), how you collect camera-based observations of predation events, and how you do predator-prey experiments in the field.

With the professional support of experienced experts, you will study the behavior, life and peculiarities of this species.

The costs can be financially supported. We expect an individual contribution of € 300 to € 500.

Join us! We look forward to seeing you.

Registrations are possible until June 23dt, 2024 via e-mail to georg.petschenka@uni-hohenheim.de stating your name, degree program and semester!
