On Wednesday, April 5, 2023, more than 50 KomBioTa members met at the Euro-Forum, Katharinasaal of the University of Hohenheim, to exchange information about current activities in the network and to jointly discuss new research ideas on current scientific aspects of biodiversity.

Among the guests was, as last year, Dr. Markus Rösler, member of the state parliament for the Green Party, who emphasized in his speech the immense importance of permanent biodiversity monitoring, research and knowledge transfer around species knowledge. This is important both for policy makers, the future design and development of agriculture, and for the next generation of professionals who are still in training.

Prof. Johannes Steidle and Prof. Martin Hasselmann, as representatives of the KomBioTa board, reported on the successes and activities of KomBioTa to date and accompanied an intensive exchange on various research ideas of the scientists, which resulted in stimulating and inspiring conversations and discussions.
