Scientific Project Manager (m/f/d) for the EU-joint-project TETTRIX


The State Museum of Natural History in Stuttgart (SMNS) is seeking a Scientific Project Manager (m/f/d) for the EU-joint-project TETTRIX to start as soon as possible. The role focuses on coordinating the project and developing and implementing initiatives to promote and foster collaboration in taxonomy, including the “Taxonomy Ambassador Program” and “Taxonomists in Residence.”

  • Part-time position (70%)
  • Remuneration in accordance with TV-L E13
  • Fixed-term contract through August 31, 2030

PhD Position in Single-Cell Evo-Devo of Orchid Flowers (f/m/d)


The Department of Plant Evolutionary Biology and Biochemistry at the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart is looking for a PhD student (f/m/d) with a strong interest in evolutionary developmental biology, genomics and bioinformatics.

The research project investigates the developmental genetic basis of pollinator-relevant floral traits such as shape, colour and scent in closely related Ophrys orchid species. State-of-the-art single-nucleus RNA sequencing and bioinformatic analyses will be used to identify gene regulatory networks and differences between species.

Applicants should hold a relevant Master’s degree in biology or a related discipline and have a solid background in genomics, evolutionary and developmental biology as well as bioinformatics and statistical data analysis.
