Our environment needs protection. But what can this look like in practice? Finding answers to this question requires expertise, know-how and experience. Baden-Württemberg is trying to meet this challenge with democracy and political guidance.
The Ministry of the Environment, Climate Protection and the Energy Sector wants to take sustainable steps in this direction and is advised in its decisions by the Nature Conservation Advisory Board, which consists of 30 representatives from a variety of backgrounds.
This autumn, Prof. Lars Krogmann and Prof. Johannes Steidle, both board members of the Center for Biodiversity and Integrative Taxonomy (KomBioTa), were elected as active members of this committee. This allows them to contribute their expertise in biodiversity, species knowledge and taxonomy into political decisions on the transformation of biodiversity for the next five years. This is an important milestone for the species diversity.
KomBioTa wishes them every success in this task!
