Register for the KomBioTa SummerSchool 2023: Research meets Conservation Practice [01.03.23]
Is there a need for taxonomists outside of science? Which species groups do you need to know? What do future students need to be prepared for? Where do they have career prospects? “Research meets Conservation Practice” is the title for the KomBioTa Summer School for master students and doctoral candidates from Universities in Baden-Württemberg that is organized by the Center for Biodiversity and Integrative Taxonomy (KomBioTa) with the aim to find answers for questions like these. Please register until the end of May!

For three days we want to get to know practical and applied species knowledge. We will get to know the most important species groups that are relevant for planning activities and learn methods of identification and recording in the field. Afterwards we want to deepen our knowledge in a practical project work, which is based on a planning procedure according to nature conservation law. In a relaxed atmosphere, we will get to know the diverse flora and fauna at the Federsee Station of the Zoological Institute of Tübingen.
The Summer School will give us the opportunity to exchange and share the joy of species knowledge outside of our own special expertise and to show professional perspectives. This way we can learn from each other and take home new know-how.
