"Talking about Taxonomy" is the title of a new lecture series that KomBioTa has launched in winter semester 2022/23. To this, experts talk about their experiences and insights from basic and applied research, share their knowledge and exchange with all people interested.

On October 24, 2022, Prof. Rob Page spoke about his activities with honey bees and opened the series in the balcony hall of Hohenheim Palace. This talk by the internationally recognized, already emeritus researcher of Arizona State University was made possible through contacts of the Apicultural State Institute.

In the rooms of the State Museum of Natural History, Löwentor, the second lecture followed on November 14, 2022, initiated by the entomology team of the museum. Prof. Rudolf Meier from the Humboldt University Berlin presented a "Diversity Scanner". This is a machine learning technology that can be used to automatically determine large numbers of insects.

As soon as further taxonomy lectures take place, we will invite through our KomBioTa mailinglist and our webpage.
