Consensus paper with proposals for better communication between nature conservation and agriculture published [15.02.23]
Communication scientist and KomBioTa advisory board member Prof. Wolfgang Schweiger shows solutions for a more efficient knowledge transfer
In November last year, experts from science, nature conservation associations, authorities, and practice met at the conference "Nature conservation and agriculture in dialogue: Constructive talks with each other" organized by the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation on the island of Vilm to discuss how to improve communication between agriculture and nature conservation. Among the participants was Prof. Wolfgang Schweiger, communication scientist at the University of Hohenheim and member of the scientific advisory board of the Competence Centre for Biodiversity and Integrative Taxonomy (KomBioTa), whose research activities deal with current scientific issues of knowledge transfer.
The exchange focused on the implementation of biodiversity-friendly, permanent area-wide agriculture. The solutions developed during the exchange were summarized in a consensus paper that was recently published.
