Preserving and, where possible, increasing diversity in the plant and animal world - this is the top priority for the members of the Centre for Biodiversity and Integrative Taxonomy. Together, the members want to strengthen biodiversity through research, teaching, networking and public relations work.

The KomBioTa year 2023 was all about ‘Discovering local biodiversity’. We took part in the ICA Biodiversity Challenge and won first place for the University of Hohenheim campus. We are also pleased to report growth in our network and an increasing number of publications with KomBioTa affiliation.

In 2024, KomBioTa would like to strengthen its activities in line with its core competences in the area of research and here the bridge between basic and applied research as well as knowledge transfer.
