Tue, December 10, 2024 | 10 am | Info session on the Nagoya Protocol (In English) [21.11.24]
Location: Universität Hohenheim, Schloss, Blauer Saal
The University of Hohenheim cordially invites all researchers who work or want to work with biological material from abroad to an information event on compliance with the Nagoya Protocol.
The Nagoya Protocol service team at the University of Hohenheim supports and informs you in all relevant matters. In this context, we are pleased to announce that Ms. Melania Munoz-Garcia from the German Nagoya Protocol HuB will be our guest speaker. She will share the expertise from the GNP HuB project with you and provide you with relevant insights and necessary information so that you can assess whether your research may also have ABS obligations (Access and Benefit Sharing) to consider.
During this information event, we will explain step by step what researchers need to know and do in order to fulfill all obligations under the Nagoya Protocol and the EU ABS Regulation. You will learn which user controls have already been put in place in Germany, what the direct consequences of non-compliance can be (e.g. fines, embargo of material and publications, etc.), and what tools and tips are already available to help you stay informed and compliant. We will also allow sufficient time for your questions.
We would be delighted to see a large number of you at this event!
