Hohenheim Gartens und the Center of Biodiversity and Integrative Taxonomy (KomBioTa) organize in cooperation with the Academy for Nature Conservation and Environmental Protection Baden-Württemberg a certification course for the BANU* certificate in silver. "Knowledge - Qualification - Certification for the species diversity" is the title of the exam, in which advanced plant experts can have their knowledge certified.
To obtain the BANU* certificate, participants need solid knowledge of species, an understanding of ecological relationships, and knowledge in addressing habitats. This is considered an indispensable tool in many areas where nature and the environment are the subject of research, assessment, planning and protection.
With a field botany certificate, you will demonstrate expert botanical knowledge and position yourself to participate in national, regional, or local environmental projects. Mastering this knowledge requires several years of field experience and identification practice.
The main focus of the BANU* certification silver is knowledge of 400 vascular plant species. Picture and herbarium material may be used if the presentation of fresh material is not possible in the case of protected species or insufficient phenology. For the identification part, the use of analog and/or digital identification keys is allowed.
To prepare the exams, a revision course is offered. You are warmly invited to join it.
Please bring the following material with you:
- Magnifier
- analog and/or digital determination keys
