The State Museum of Natural History Stuttgart invites all interested parties to its Science Colloqium.

Michael Orr, State Museum of Natural History Stuttgart, Team Entomology

will hold the following talk:

Advances in bee distribution and floral specialization

Following recent advances in our knowledge on global bee distribution, there are numerous large-scale projects underway to enable more informed decisions on insect conservation. I will detail some of these, with special focus on North America where far more public data exist. Special focus will also be given to an incipient project leveraging a novel floral specialization dataset in a spatial phylogenetics context. Furthering our integration of traits in this way will greatly improve our knowledge not just of which bees may face greater threat, but also why this is happening.
